FISKERTON residents Vicky and Kevin Osbon, successfully completed the 192 mile Coast to Coast challenge raising £3,357 for the Stroke Association in memory of Vicky’s Mum, Mary Slaughter. Mary was fit and well when she died suddenly of a stroke leaving the family devastated.

The Coast to Coast Challenge was the first phase of their fundraising campaign and both are now in training for Phase Two of their challenge and are looking to climb two huge mountains over 6,000 metres  in Nepal in the Himalayas. During October and November Vicky and Kevin will attempt to trek to Everest Base camp (5,364m), Kala Patthar (5,645m) and the two mountains namely Lobuche at 6,119m and Island Peak at 6,189m in the Himalayas in Nepal.

Vicky said: “I’m a bit scared at the prospect, but wanted to take on a special challenge in memory of my Mum, which will hopefully inspire people to support us and contribute to our fundraising campaign.”

All of the costs of the venture will be met by the Osbon family and every penny raised will go to the Stroke Association in memory of Vicky’s Mum. So far Vicky and Kevin have raised £3,357 of their £5,000 target and you can support them at theirJustGiving page: www.justgiving.com/ fundraising/kevin-osbon.
