ATLANTIS Books is a group of students from The Minster School involved in a project called Young Enterprise.

This is a national charity which specialises in enterprise education aiming to build a successful and sustainable future for all young people. The sixth formers have created a book called ‘Teddy’s Travels’.

Teddy’s Travels takes you on an engaging adventure to countries all around the globe where you can meet fun new Teddy characters and learn about their culture. This book has an educational story and captivating illustrations all created by the students themselves. MD of Atlantis Books Elizabeth Woods said: “We want to give younger generations the opportunity to explore the world from wherever they are, to help them to appreciate different cultures so we as a society can strive towards equality together.

“Our book costs £7.95 and is made with chlorine free ink and FSC paper. It is aimed at children aged from two to ten years old as it includes two different writing sizes and complexity so we can make sure we can maximise the number of children learning about the beautifully unique cultures of the world. We hope you will enjoy reading our book as much as we enjoyed making it.”

The team recently attended an event at Nottingham Trent University to present their product against other Young Enterprise companies in the area. Even through this daunting experience the team presented an incredible pitch in front of 200 students and they were awarded second place. They are very excited to go onto the next part of their journey competing in the Midlands heats later this year.
