Dear Bramley

Dear Bramley

Extracts from The Bramley 30 Years Ago July 10, 2012

I am 12 years old and although I am physically handicapped, I am lucky enough to go to the Colonel Frank Seely Comprehensive School in Calverton.

On June 22nd the school nurse, Mrs Waldron, took me to the Bramley Apple pub, not for under-age drinking but for the Southwell Lions Club to present me with the lovely new wheelchair that they have just bought for me. The money was raised mainly by many local children and adults, also people from my school and the local Girl Guides all taking part in sponsored swims. One Guide Group didn’t know about the sponsored swim until very late so they decided to have a Garden Party at very short notice and gave the money to the Lions Club.

I would like everyone to know how thrilled I am with my new wheelchair. It is very comfortable and smart and I would like to say thank you to evryone who helped buy this for me.

Yours sincerely
Lesley Brown.
