LAST month, Sharon Lindsay and the Lowdham and District Darts Community celebrated her recovery from cancer with a charity darts day, raising money for the charities that helped her.
The day was a huge success, raising £4,500 for Macmillan Cancer Supprt and Nottingham’s Maggies Centre.
Everyone who attended, no matter of their dart playing ability, were welcomed to the oche to help us achieve the 100,000 points for the Macmillan Darts Marathon Challenge. The target was achieved in 8 hours and 54 minutes and was celebrated accordingly!
Throughout the day competitions were run alongside the marathon and into the night. There was highest score with 9 darts which was won with a score of 281, a suddent death 1 dart knockout competition, beat the host 101 and much more.
Sharon and the team have been overwhelmed with the generosotity of all who sponsored, donated and attended to make this event possible and such a success.
Bully’s Prize Board was a great hit with those taking part needing to hit the doubles and trebles on a special training board (the double and trebles are half the width of a standard board!) for the mystery prizes!
Sharon would like to say a special thank you to her husband Stuart for being by her side throughout her cancer journey and for being the driving force that has coordinated such a successful event, enabling them to give something back to these fantastic support these charities.
