Extracts from The Bramley 30 Years Ago January 20, 2015

The Debbie Pegg School of Dancing in Farnsfield has just completed its first year in operation. In November 1983 the school was started in the village centre with 2 children’s classes in modern and tap. The ballet and national classes were introduced and now the school caters for boys and girls from 3 to classes for adults in body focus and tap.

Debbie Pegg trained in London and, after having gained honours in all her major dance exams, went on to do a 3 years course in teaching and passed her Associate Teaching exams of the ISTD. Having moved to Southwell and on completing her family, she decided to restart teaching realising there was agreat demand in this atrea. The school has just had ISTD exams in modern, tap and ballet, resulting in a high success rate, with one member of the adult tap class gaining honours.

Debbie Pegg would like to congratulate everyone on passing these exams and thank Miss Jackie Mason, a student teacher, for all her help. Next year Mrs Pegg is hoping to expand to the Southwell area with the help of an assistant, Mrs Carole Cottam. In the spring, member sof the school will give their first dancing display at Oxton Village Hall in aid of kidney research funds.
