Clannad join 2015 Gate to Southwell Festival

Legendary Irish folk rock group, Clannad, are among the many great acts being lined up for the new-look Gate To Southwell Festival 2015 this June (4th – 7th). It’s currently their only UK appearance.

Following a memorable guest appearance by lead singer Moya Brennan last summer, the classic Clannad line up – who received a BBC Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014 and have been responsible for many Grammy-winning albums and soundtracks such as Titanic, Last Of The Mohicans, Harry’s Game and Robin Hood – will headline one of the four nights in early June.

With other big names being announced very soon, the festival plans to bring even more eclectic roots and acoustic artists from all over the world to Nottinghamshire this summer.

Also already booked for June are rising Irish bluegrass stars We Banjo 3, highly-acclaimed Americana act The Railsplitters from Colorado, plus BBC Folk Award-winner Chris Wood (who’ll be reunited with Andy Cutting), Scottish roots rockers Manran and famous re-formed English vocal trio Artisan.

A limited number of Early Bird discount tickets will be available until 28th February via the festival website – www.gtsf.uk – so those wanting to guarantee a great weekend of music, comedy, children’s entertainment, dancing, fantastic food and a beer and cider festival should book now or contact 01636 816678.
