Chorister Experience

For hundreds of years, children have been at the centre of music in Southwell Minster, lifting their voices at services, concerts, and on special occasions.

Southwell Minster is very proud to continue this tradition with its own group of young singers, all of whom are united in a love of music. Over the past year and a half many people have missed singing together, something closely linked with wellbeing, and so they are delighted now to be able to bring people together once again.

This year, the popular event The Chorister Experience returns, presenting an opportunity for children in school years 1 and 2 to spend a morning in Southwell Minster singing with the Minster choristers, seeing the Minster organ, and having fun learning about all things Minster.

Expert staff are on hand to encourage and enthuse participants, making sure they have an enjoyable and unforgettable morning. And there is more – for parents there is the opportunity to learn about what it is to be a chorister and what are the benefits for children and families. For those who may like to take this further, they also offer help and advice about what to do next.

For the first time there are two events: Saturday 2nd October and Saturday 13th November, both 10.00am -12.30pm with refreshments provided afterwards.
Participants are welcome at either one or both of these free events.
