Children Design Parish Logo

Extracts from The Bramley 30 Years Ago April 12, 2016

TWO children from Lowe’s Wong Junior school, Simon Forshaw and Kate Hurst, attended Southwell Parish Council’s March meeting to be congratulated on their winning designs for a Parish Council Logo.

Simon’s design will become the official town logo and be incorporated into all the Parish Clerk’s stationery and official documentation for the town. Chairman, Roger Merryweather congratulated Kate Hurst, the runner-up in the competition which had been open to all children in the town’s schools. Mr. Merryweather spoke of the exceptionally high standard of entries from Lowe’s Wong school as a whole, and of the difficulty in choosing an outright winner.

Simon Forshaw’s logo was clear, bold and presented the town’s well known associations, the Minster, Bramley apple and wells, in a very pleasing design, he said.
