Southwell Minster pupil, Alec Boaden is embarking on a month-long expedition to Borneo with school in August this year. While there, he will teach children, build schools and do conservation work.
The trip will cost £4,500, plus £500-£1000 for equipment, and Alec has to raise this money himself through fundraising.
In a bid to reach this target, Alec and his family have produced a charity cookery book which is on sale for £10 at several places around Nottingham including Waterstones.
The book has over a 100 recipes donated from celebrities, chefs, restaurants and high profile people. Alec said: “We’ve got recipes from people like Dame Esther Rantzen, Rick Stein, Nigel Slater, Sarah Beeny and Antonio Carluccio to name but a few! The book has been an amazing project to work on.”
Alec will be selling copies of his book at Southwell Library on Saturday 23rd January from 9am until 12 noon.
