A very big and sincere thank you to everyone who helped make our Community Carol Concert in the Minster such an enjoyable evening.
To the performers, whether singers, players or actors, for their carefully prepared and beautifully presented contributions: to Rev. William Thackray for his witty ‘linkmanship’ which bound the programme together; and most especially to the audience whose wholehearted involvement set the final seal on the success of the occasion.
You will all be delighted to learn that the concert raised about £400 which is to be donated to the charity which provides specially equipped canal boats to enable disabled people to fully enjoy holidays on our inland waterways, the Peter Le Marchant Trust.
If you have any suggestions for Carols for Everyone 1983, please let me know as soon as possible!
