An appeal has been launched by Southwell Rugby Club for people to buy a brick for its new clubhouse.
The old clubhouse building is due to be demolished and replaced with a new facility that will also have changing rooms and panoramic views from glass walls looking over pitches and Southwell Minster. It is hoped work will be completed by the end of August this year.
When completed it will be used as both a clubhouse and as a venue that can utilised by other sports clubs, organisations and charities in the town.
To help the club achieve its goal, it is asking individuals and organisations to help by buying a brick (or as many as you like) to be placed in the walls for many a year. These will cost £49 each and will have yours (or loved ones) names on them.
A family fun day was recently held to support the campaign and bid farewell to the clubhouse, built in 1962. The day included junior and senior games and was a great success.
Those wanting to support this campaign can do so online at www.pitchero.com/clubs/southwell or ring club chairman Tom Craig on 07551 959531.
