The club has Sport England status in recognition of its high standard of coaching, management and child protection. It is run by enthusiastic and supportive Badminton England registered coaches and meets on Saturday mornings at Southwell Leisure Centre between 9am and 12 noon with our beginners and potential new members sessions on Friday night at The Minster School.
Our overriding aim is to encourage children of all abilities to play sport and to take up badminton for fun, fitness and social development.
We accept members between the ages of 5 – 17 years and run girls, boys and mixed teams in the Notts Junior Badminton Leagues at Y6, Y7/8, Y9/10 and Y11/12, with home matches played at Southwell Leisure Centre on Sunday afternoons.
Over 35 club members have played for the Notts Junior County teams with three going on to represent England at junior level, and one becoming a full England International. Many of our members progress from the club to play in local adult clubs and leagues.
