Southwell Choral Society is a local community choir and singers of all ages and abilities are welcome to join without audition. We usually rehearse at 7.30pm on Monday eveninggs in the State Chamber of the the Archbishop’s Palace of Southwell Minster. If the current roadmap out of the pandemic stays on course, we plan to start safely organised rehearsals in the first week of September 2021 for a concert in the Minster on 20th November of choral music including a performance of the Fauré Requiem. It is hoped that Marcus Farnsworth and Scarlett Clemmow will be able to join us as soloists.
Planned concerts for next year include performances of John Rutter’s “Feel the Spirit” and Will Todd’s “Mass in Blue” in May and a combined concert of seasonal music with Derwent Brass in December.
There are reduced subscriptions for the unwaged and full time students are completely free.
