Freemasonry in Southwell

Freemasonry in Southwell

Freemasonry has been part of the Southwell community since 1872. As our Minster was built by Stonemasons, Freemasonry’s predecessors, some say it has been with us even longer.

Minster Lodge meets on the third Tuesday of each month in the historic Great Hall at the Archbishop’s Palace and dines afterwards at the Saracen’s Head. It has a thriving membership and is open to men of all ages and backgrounds who want to make new friendships, develop themselves and make a positive contribution to society. Women who share the same goals are encouraged to join Lodge Vigilance in West Bridgford.

Southwell’s Lodge is on of 85 across Nottinghamshire and over 7,200 in England and Wales.
