Creswell Crags is a dramatic limestone gorge dotted with caves on the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border. Over 100 years of archaeological work at the site has unearthed stone tools and remains of animals revealing a fascinating story of life during the last Ice Age. In 2003 Britain’s only known Ice Age rock art was discovered here. Drawn about 13,000 years ago, they provide a glimpse into the rich culture and fascinating life of our distant relatives.
