A familiar face at Southwell Leisure Centre, Mo Proctor is celebrating her recent British Record in Powerlifting.
With over 11 years experience as a fitness instructor and personal trainer, Mo turned her hand to powerlifting 18 months ago. After a series of competitions and a brief period of rest this summer due to a back injury, Mo competed in the Global Powerlifting Community (GPC) GB Iron Firework qualifier in November, gaining her 2nd British record for a 130kg Deadlift and 1st place in her category. Mo also holds another Master II over 40’s British record for lifting a total of 245kg on all 3 lifts.
“After my back injury I thought I would be out of competitive powerlifting for at least a year, but luckily I made a good recovery,” explained Mo. “My plans for next year include competing at various competitions across the country as well as training for the British finals qualifiers with British Powerlifting Union (BPU) AND GPC.
