Southwell’s annual Bramley Apple Festival continues to grow with a bumper crop of activities due to take place on Saturday 25th October.
Valued support from Veolia EnviroGrant as well as regular sponsors of the Festival including Nottinghamshire County Council, Newark and Southwell District Council, Southwell Town Council and the NFU, is enabling the Festival to grow again this year.
Events range from apple-themed activities at the National Trust’s Southwell Workhouse to the popular Festival of Food and Drink in Southwell Minster. The Notinghamshire Federation of Womens Institutes’ Annual Apple Pie Competition is being held in the Bramley Centre which is also hosting the annual Painting Competition and Exhibition. Exhibition entries accepted until 3pm on Saturday 4th Oct and can be viewed from 4th – 25th October. Please pick up a leaflet from Southwell Library for full details and an application form.
There will be activities for children at The Core , an apple-themed trail in the newly refurbished Archbishop’s Palace and Education Centre, and performances of music and dance by the Lord Conyers Morris Men and the Minster School Ceilidh Band.
A special Bramley Race is taking place at Southwell Racecourse on 23rd October and the Poetry Competition readings are taking place in Southwell Library on 24th October.
