Bleasby Residents drive For Full Fibre Broadband

Two Bleasby residents have started a community campaign to install Full Fibre Broadband around the village this year.

Geoff Lester and Philip Hill are working with the team that installed the highly successful fibre network for Fiskerton and Morton.

“It’s really fantastic what Fiskerton and Morton have done on their own under the F4RN scheme.” says Philip Hill. “They get speeds of around 400 Mega Bits Per Second which is in the top four per cent of Broadband Speeds in the country.”

Geoff and Phil are hoping to get enough support around the community to get the project off the ground. “Full Fibre Broadband is so much faster and more reliable than the Superfast service currently available from BT and others.” says Geoff. “It could be 10 years or more before BT get around to delivering a Full Fibre cable into everyone’s home and we want to enjoy the same level of service many city-located housing estates currently have.”

The pair have already sent a survey to every home in Bleasby with positive initial results and will look to holding a series of public meetings soon to explain what’s involved in detail.
“It’s a sizeable project,” continues Phil, “but Fiskerton and Morton are supporting us all the way.” With Full Fibre Broadband reported to increase the desirability of homes and increase values by up to three per cent, Bleasby Residents could soon surf, stream, download and upload alongside the fastest in the UK!
