Quite a shake up was produced by the Council for the Protection of Rural England’s 1983 Best Kept Vilage Competition when only Southwell of last year’s winners managed to retain its Trophy.
Southwell descibed as exceptionally clean, became outright winners of their category this year after last year’s result had produced a unique three-way tie between Southwell, Burton Joyce and Collingham.
