Beaumond House Community Hospice is asking you to Be Bright Blue during Hospice Care Week from 9th to 15th October to raise funds for necessary equipment.
The Hospice is a registered charity that has been committed to providing supportive palliative care to patients with life limiting or terminal illnesses and their families, since 1987. Beaumond House operates over an approximate radius of 15 miles from Newark, including Southwell. Each year the charity provides care for over 500 patients and support to their families, caring for around 150 patients at any one time.
In order to maintain this much needed service, Beaumond House ihas launched its next fundraising initiative to replace two Electronic adjustable hospital beds.
Bedding equipment can cost up to £5,000 each, resulting in this year’s campaigning being largely restricted to improving facilities and equipment. The electronic beds are invaluable to patients and aid with everyday tasks such as sitting up to eat, drinking, talking to friends or family members and perhaps most importantly- minimising pain and damage to delicate skin.
The Be Bright Blue appeal is targeting institutions and businesses in a hope to get as many members of the community involved, so why not organise a ‘Blue Food Day’ or a ‘Blue Dress Up Day’ at work to help Beaumond House finance the beds it desperately needs for its patients.
You can also visit the charity’s stand in Newark Market Square on Saturday 14th October to take part in a balloon pop competition.
