Amazing Days Appeal update

LOCAL charity Reach Learning Disability is appealing to the Southwell community to help secure the future of its much-loved day centre on Prebend Passage – a place that creates amazing days for adults with learning disabilities.

Raif (pictured below) has attended Reach Southwell for four years. His dad Richard says: “We couldn’t wish for a better place. Without Reach, Raif wouldn’t really venture out of the house. Because of Reach, Raif has a purpose and he and the other clients are part of the Southwell community.”

His mum Tracey adds: “To us, the most important thing is that he goes out and about in Southwell with Reach. He gets to know local people and shopkeepers, and they get to know him. So, when Raif shops independently, he’s recognised and understood.”

The local community has always responded generously to Reach’s appeals and the charity is hugely grateful. Now, Reach has a one-off opportunity to buy its Southwell premises. Securing the building would protect the future of this vital centre, ensuring local adults with learning disabilities can continue to learn, make friends and thrive for generations to come.

The ‘Amazing Days’ appeal is underway. Thanks to a generous donor, every donation will be matched pound for pound up to £50,000 – doubling the impact. So far, nearly £12,000 has been raised from the community which can be matched.
