A Warm Welcome awaits at The Spread Eagle

The Spread Eagle in Hockerton is reopening its doors on 9th December with a warm welcome to all.

Under new ownership, husband and wife team, Blake and Natalie wanted to create a traditional, country pub serving delicious, home cooked food.
Having worked as a chef for over 20 years, including at an award winning pub for the last seven years, Blake has created a menu, which ranges from popular dishes such as Halloumi Fries (£5.50) and Salt & Pepper Sticky Chicken (£5.95) to start, followed by Homemade Beer Battered Haddock & Chips (£13.95) and Sausage & Mash (£11.95), plus a great selection of Pies for £12.95 served with red wine gravy and chips or mash and garden or mushy peas.

With Steak and Gammons on the grill, a range of Fajitas from £13.95, stone baked Pizzas from £12.50 as well as a great choice of Ciabatta sandwiches all served with a house salad from £5.95 there is something for everyone to enjoy.

“We are so excited to be reopening The Spread Eagle in time for Christmas,” said Natalie. “The pub has been empty for some time and we have worked incredibly hard to redecorate and renovate throughout – our thanks goes to all the local tradespeople and residents who have helped us over the past few months.”

“As well as our regular menu we have also launched our Christmas Day Lunch,” said Blake. “Served from 12noon – 4pm, diners can enjoy a choice of three courses, plus coffee and chocolates for £70, £40 for children under 12.
“Starters include Chicken Liver Parfait, Smoked Salmon & Caviar and Rosemary & Garlic Baked Camembert, with Traditional Roast Turkey, Poached Salmon Fillet or Slow Roasted Minted Lamb Kleftiko amongst the Mains followed by Christmas Pudding or Italian Lemon Meringue Roulade and Coffee & Chocolate Creme Brûlée to name a few.”

Open Tuesdays – Thursdays from 4pm-close and Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays 12pm – close, food will be served 4-9pm Tuesday -Thursdays and 12noon-2pm & 4-9pm on Friday & Saturdays and 12noon-5.30pm on Sundays.
