A Rural Tradition comes to Oxton

The Southwell Ploughing Match & Show for this year will be held on Saturday 26th September at the Oxton Estate, Oxton, NG25 0RJ.

It will be the usual award winning Show across eight carefully sited rings each with their own full programme of events for the day. Visitors will enjoy everything from horse jumping and parades of vintage tractors, to the amazing display from the headline main ring performance of J.C. Balls & Sons Digger Dance!

There will be the usual extensive Ploughing Classes from horse ploughing, through the vintage years, to the modern day tractor, alongside an array of livestock classes, static displays and an extensive Produce Marquee displaying a vast array of horticultural and domestic produce.

Over 80 stalls will be included in the Craft Marquee and Farmers Market, not to mention the 100 carefully selected Trade stands where you can buy everything from the largest farming equipment and garden plants to the latest in country clothing and childrens toys.

If all that makes you hungry, pop along to the large and varied hot food and refreshment area within the trade stand arena, but near to bars and main rings, where quality refreshments are available throughout the day. Alternatively make use of one of the picnic places around many of the show rings.

The Southwell Ploughing Match and Show is the largest agricultural one day show in the county and is still the same format that won it The Best Country Event of The Year throughout the UK!

Open from 8.30am until 6pm, on the day adult tickets are £7.50 (only £6 in advance, on line) and children under 14 are free to enter. Forward Area Parking with 4 tickets is available in advance at only £35.
